Hardship is a test

“Do people think they will be left alone and not be tested?” (29:2)In times of difficulty and hardship, our compass of hope should only be directed to Allah the Almighty. As we are passing through a dark journey of hazy days, the best that we can do is to hope for rain.

Abbad bin Tamim (al-Muzini) reported on the authority of his uncle: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took the people out (to the place of prayer) and prayed for rain. He led them in two rakaahs of prayer in the course of which he recited from the Quran in a loud voice. He turned around his cloak and raised his hands, prayed for rain and faced the qiblah.

Sunan Abu Dawood 3: Chapter 3, Hadith 1161Let us all whole-heartedly practise the sunnah of our Rasul (pbuh) the best that we could.

P/s: Upon seeing rain, always recite اللهم صيبا نافعا “O Allah, make it a beneficial rain”
