What’s the Idrissi story, morning glory?

IDRISSI LEARNING PATHWAY OPEN DAY: FIRST STEP INTO THE FUTURE

In conjunction with the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) that will be taking place in November, IDRISSI International Secondary School has organized an open day called IDRISSI LEARNING PATHWAY on Saturday, 10th of February 2018. The event was held at The Hangout Hall, IDRISSI International Secondary School in Setia Alam, from 9 o’clock in the morning to 12 o’clock in the afternoon. It was opened not just to parents and students, but also to the public.

IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds, certified by University of Cambridge. In Malaysia, this would be equivalent to the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM). It is recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to individual development and achievement. Established over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools all over the globe. Such credibility is important for IDRISSI, being an eco-Islamic school that follows Cambridge International School curriculum as its academic framework, while infusing Islamic and environmental education in every lesson.

Though it has only opened its doors quite recently which was in 2016, IDRISSI International Secondary School has been receiving many applications from potential students and positive feedbacks from its current pupils, as well as their parents. The plus point of it all has got to be the fact that it is the first and the only eco-Islamic school the world has ever known. Its affiliation with WWF’s Eco-Schools programme and Cambridge’s Duke of Edinburgh International Award programme has made IDRISSI stands out from the rest. The school’s combination of talented, dedicated teachers, together with holistic, updated curriculum, has got the numbers of students rising up very quickly. This motivates IDRISSI to strive further thus holding its first open day for IGCSE students.

IDRISSI LEARNING PATHWAY was an initiative to help IGCSE students make decisions in shaping the path of their future and learn about the available options. This decision-making process might be daunting to some students, yet IDRISSI is determined to make it a positive and exciting experience. Participation by educational institutes and agencies were encouraging as there were 12 universities, colleges, and education consultants that took part in the event. They were: IIUM Academy, Monash University, Princeton Review, HELP University, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Kolej Yayasan UEM, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Management & Science University, INTEC Education College, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, IDP Education, and International University of Malaya-Wales. Students and parents had the opportunity to talk to the representatives themselves to get a clearer picture on the programs and courses offered, explore probable scholarships, and the scope of the field that they are interested in.
