OUR STORY

The Global Home of Changemakers

The world our children will inherit is more connected, complex and fast-changing than ever before. Success will require cultural understanding, adaptability and the confidence to make a meaningful difference anywhere life takes them. Here, a globally minded community brings together international perspectives, strong values and the unique experience of boarding life. Living and learning together, our students develop independence, resilience and leadership alongside peers from all walks of life. The result is a generation prepared not only to navigate the world, but to contribute meaningfully to it.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

“Holistic knowledge, good morality, true happiness, and universal success are what we look to instill in the children here.”

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

For us, the first right of a child is to be loved, the second is to be respected and the third is to be educated. All these rights are fundamental, but we realised that they are often recognised only if modesty is kept close to heart.

Understanding this quality at the core, we create a level of comfort between teachers and students so there can be an open dialogue and learning in this fast-paced world. Students here will also have someone they can talk to, seek support and trustworthy advice from. Same goes to parents, we also look to provide a strong tripartite relationship for your child’s development.

As you may already know, we do not believe 100% in four walls learning, hence we infuse a balanced indoor and outdoor experience into the curriculum for a breath of fresh air. With the accompaniment of farms and animals such as goats, rabbits and chickens, students will feel more connected to nature, at the same time, feel more positive and energised.

My office is always open for students to come and let me know their concerns. Certainly, it is always open for parents too to discuss how we can provide the best in your child’s learning.

“Be the Change”

Value Education Programme (VEP)

Imagine a world where the young generation is not only academically brilliant but also emotionally intelligent, practising virtuous traits such as kindness, compassion, respect and empathy. Value Education Programme, or known as VEP is a character-building programme that emphasises on social-emotional learning skills, where students learn to create meaningful connections with everyone around them. Good values are instilled in a variety of activities for the students to be involved in such as the Cookout to share recipes among friends, Charity Bake Sale to raise funds for the needy, visits to Charity Homes and many more.

STEM Robotics

IDRISSI International School is the first international school in Malaysia to implement STEM with Robotics Curriculum. The curriculum is accredited and certified by Global STEM Alliance (GSA) and International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA). Through hands-on and creative learning, students explore engineering concepts, design, coding, and problem-solving using STEM-friendly robots. Rather than learning in theory alone, students are challenged to develop robots that solve real, everyday problems which helps foster their interest in subjects like Mathematics, Coding, Engineering, Science and Technology, all of which lead to innovation.

Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS)

The JASS Programme is an internationally recognised, accredited progressive learning programme offered to students aged 10–14, designed to develop well-rounded character and a sense of purpose beyond the classroom. It gives our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio. Fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy, the programme recognises growth across four key areas:

FLiP (Year 3 to Year 6)

FLiP is IDRISSI’s Financial Literacy Programme, developed in partnership with MoneyTree Asia Pacific, one of the region’s leading financial education providers. Unlike most Malaysian schools that offer financial literacy as an elective, we teach it as a core part of our curriculum. Our teachers are trained and certified by MoneyTree, equipping students with real money skills, which include budgeting, saving, understanding debt, investing and the importance of giving. We believe that a child who understands money grows into an adult who is responsible, generous, and financially free.

Eco Scouts and Eco Programme

Learning at IDRISSI goes far beyond the classroom. Our students explore the wider world and apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences in our outdoor learning spaces. Eco Programme is a dedicated subject within our curriculum, while Eco Scouts runs every Friday for Year 1 to Year 3, where students take part in activities like making self-watering planters, rainwater harvesting, patch farming, recycling and more. Through these experiences, they discover firsthand how even the smallest actions can make a big impact on the environment.

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE)

As the continuity of the JASS programme, students will participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), an international leading achievement award programme for students aged 14 and above. The programme is fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy. It is internationally recognised and will give our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio.

Archery

Another customised subject we include in our curriculum is Skill and Fill, where students learn traditional Turkish Archery from trainers certified by the Yunus Emre Institute (world-wide non-profit organisation by the Turkish government) and the Okçular Vakfi (Archers’ Foundation of Turkey). The traditional sport is being taught together with its underlying historical, athletic, artistic, cultural and educational values. Being focused, confident and having a good sense of coordination are some of the positive values students can benefit from the programme.
