Idrissi International School Johor Bahru’s Inaugural IGCSE Cohort!

Idrissi International School Johor Bahru’s Inaugural IGCSE Cohort!

The Journey to This Moment

There’s a particular kind of energy that fills a school on results day, but that energy carried extra weight this year, because this wasn’t just any results day. It marked IDRISSI International School Johor Bahru’s very first IGCSE cohort’s journey with us!

There were no previous years’ results to set expectations. Instead, there were dedicated educators, a clear academic framework and a wonderful commitment by all the IDRISSI community; students helping one another, parents giving steady support and teachers remained closely engaged throughout the school years.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

We have always believed in celebrating academic growth, ambition and excellence. This year, our Class of 2026 gave us plenty to celebrate. Their Cambridge IGCSE results reflect a strong academic performance, with 77% achieving C & above, 57% achieving B & above and 36% achieving A & above. Behind these numbers are students who pushed themselves across multiple subjects, alongside a strong support system in school and at home. To us, that’s the real story here, not just the results themselves, but what they represent: a learning environment where students are genuinely supported in reaching their full potential.

Congratulations, Class of 2026 Valedictorian & Salutatorian!

Congratulations to our Valedictorian, Siti Nur Syafiah Binte Azman for achieving 3A* 4A 1B. Beyond her academic excellence, she shone brightly in other areas as well; serving as Secretary of the Performing Arts Club and representing the school at the national level of the Nexus Math Competition. She is also IDRISSI Johor Bahru’s digital magazine writer and was an active committee member for both Science and Math Day and IGCSE Graduation Day.

We would also like to congratulate Siti Nur Syaza Binte Azman, who has been awarded as our Salutatorian for achieving 2A* 5A 1B. She balanced her studies with leadership as the Vice President of the Performing Arts Club, national-level representation at the Nexus Math Competition, and her role as an editor of IDRISSI Johor Bahru’s digital magazine, all while contributing as a student committee member for Science and Math Day and IGCSE Graduation Day.

Gratitude All Around

To our first IGCSE graduates, congratulations on this achievement. You are the first to walk this path at IDRISSI International School Johor Bahru, and you have set a wonderful example for every student to follow. This is just the beginning, and may Allah bless your journey as you move towards a higher level of education.

To our passionate teachers, thank you for showing up every day with patience and heart, even when the going got tough. This success carries your fingerprints all over it. May Allah bless all your efforts in nurturing the young generation with knowledge that benefits them both dunya and akhirah.

To our supportive parents, it means the world to us to have you walk alongside us throughout this journey. Your encouragement at home has made all the difference, and we are grateful for you! May Allah continue to bless your families abundantly.

This achievement belongs to all of us. Here’s to many more chapters to come!

Value Education Programme (VEP)

Imagine a world where the young generation is not only academically brilliant but also emotionally intelligent, practising virtuous traits such as kindness, compassion, respect and empathy. Value Education Programme, or known as VEP is a character-building programme that emphasises on social-emotional learning skills, where students learn to create meaningful connections with everyone around them. Good values are instilled in a variety of activities for the students to be involved in such as the Cookout to share recipes among friends, Charity Bake Sale to raise funds for the needy, visits to Charity Homes and many more.

STEM Robotics

IDRISSI International School is the first international school in Malaysia to implement STEM with Robotics Curriculum. The curriculum is accredited and certified by Global STEM Alliance (GSA) and International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA). Through hands-on and creative learning, students explore engineering concepts, design, coding, and problem-solving using STEM-friendly robots. Rather than learning in theory alone, students are challenged to develop robots that solve real, everyday problems which helps foster their interest in subjects like Mathematics, Coding, Engineering, Science and Technology, all of which lead to innovation.

Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS)

The JASS Programme is an internationally recognised, accredited progressive learning programme offered to students aged 10–14, designed to develop well-rounded character and a sense of purpose beyond the classroom. It gives our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio. Fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy, the programme recognises growth across four key areas:

FLiP (Year 3 to Year 6)

FLiP is IDRISSI’s Financial Literacy Programme, developed in partnership with MoneyTree Asia Pacific, one of the region’s leading financial education providers. Unlike most Malaysian schools that offer financial literacy as an elective, we teach it as a core part of our curriculum. Our teachers are trained and certified by MoneyTree, equipping students with real money skills, which include budgeting, saving, understanding debt, investing and the importance of giving. We believe that a child who understands money grows into an adult who is responsible, generous, and financially free.

Eco Scouts and Eco Programme

Learning at IDRISSI goes far beyond the classroom. Our students explore the wider world and apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences in our outdoor learning spaces. Eco Programme is a dedicated subject within our curriculum, while Eco Scouts runs every Friday for Year 1 to Year 3, where students take part in activities like making self-watering planters, rainwater harvesting, patch farming, recycling and more. Through these experiences, they discover firsthand how even the smallest actions can make a big impact on the environment.

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE)

As the continuity of the JASS programme, students will participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), an international leading achievement award programme for students aged 14 and above. The programme is fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy. It is internationally recognised and will give our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio.

Archery

Another customised subject we include in our curriculum is Skill and Fill, where students learn traditional Turkish Archery from trainers certified by the Yunus Emre Institute (world-wide non-profit organisation by the Turkish government) and the Okçular Vakfi (Archers’ Foundation of Turkey). The traditional sport is being taught together with its underlying historical, athletic, artistic, cultural and educational values. Being focused, confident and having a good sense of coordination are some of the positive values students can benefit from the programme.
