Double victory for IDRISSI future innovators! 7 of our Year 10 students represented IDRISSI International School and swept Gold in the Asian Youth Innovation Awards (Junior) under the Safety and Security category and Special Award from the Indonesian Invention & Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2025.
IDRISSI students proudly received Gold in the Asian Youth Innovation Awards (Junior Category) and a Special Award from the Indonesian Invention & Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA).
Their groundbreaking project, ‘Safe n Snug’, is a smart baby car seat system designed to prevent the dangers of infants being accidentally left in vehicles. Leveraging advanced sensors and real-time alerts, ‘Safe n Snug’ provides parents and caregivers an invaluable extra layer of protection, perfectly encapsulated in its tagline: ‘Ensuring Your Baby’s Safety, Anytime, Anywhere.’
“We aimed to tackle a critical issue with an innovative solution, never expecting such recognition. This journey has shown us the power of teamwork and dedication. More than anything, we hope ‘Safe n Snug’ raises awareness about child safety and inspires others to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges,” said Umar Al-Farouque, the group leader.
IDRISSI students explaining about their project to visitors and judges.
The impactful project was brought to life through a collaboration with the Centre of Printable Electronics (CPE) and Universiti Malaya. This partnership not only provided essential technical guidance but also ignited our students’ understanding of their innovation’s broader real-world applications. It beautifully illustrates the transformative potential of youth-driven technological solutions in addressing critical societal needs.
IDRISSI students visited the Centre of Printable Electronics (CPE) at University Malaya to work on their project for MTE 2025.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to the quality of education and character-building nurtured at IDRISSI International School. By fostering a culture of innovation, critical thinking, and purpose-driven learning, our students consistently rise to global challenges with impactful solutions. ‘Safe n Snug’ is just one example of how IDRISSI students are empowered to become changemakers, making their mark beyond the classroom through real-world accomplishments that reflect both academic excellence and social consciousness.
A huge congratulations to these talented young minds for their incredible achievement, and a sincere thank you to all the dedicated teachers whose guidance and support were instrumental in this success!

Imagine a world where the young generation is not only academically brilliant but also emotionally intelligent, practising virtuous traits such as kindness, compassion, respect and empathy. Value Education Programme, or known as VEP is a character-building programme that emphasises on social-emotional learning skills, where students learn to create meaningful connections with everyone around them. Good values are instilled in a variety of activities for the students to be involved in such as the Cookout to share recipes among friends, Charity Bake Sale to raise funds for the needy, visits to Charity Homes and many more.

IDRISSI International School is the first international school in Malaysia to implement STEM with Robotics Curriculum. The curriculum is accredited and certified by Global STEM Alliance (GSA) and International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA). Through hands-on and creative learning, students explore engineering concepts, design, coding, and problem-solving using STEM-friendly robots. Rather than learning in theory alone, students are challenged to develop robots that solve real, everyday problems which helps foster their interest in subjects like Mathematics, Coding, Engineering, Science and Technology, all of which lead to innovation.
The JASS Programme is an internationally recognised, accredited progressive learning programme offered to students aged 10–14, designed to develop well-rounded character and a sense of purpose beyond the classroom. It gives our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio. Fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy, the programme recognises growth across four key areas:
FLiP is IDRISSI’s Financial Literacy Programme, developed in partnership with MoneyTree Asia Pacific, one of the region’s leading financial education providers. Unlike most Malaysian schools that offer financial literacy as an elective, we teach it as a core part of our curriculum. Our teachers are trained and certified by MoneyTree, equipping students with real money skills, which include budgeting, saving, understanding debt, investing and the importance of giving. We believe that a child who understands money grows into an adult who is responsible, generous, and financially free.
Learning at IDRISSI goes far beyond the classroom. Our students explore the wider world and apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences in our outdoor learning spaces. Eco Programme is a dedicated subject within our curriculum, while Eco Scouts runs every Friday for Year 1 to Year 3, where students take part in activities like making self-watering planters, rainwater harvesting, patch farming, recycling and more. Through these experiences, they discover firsthand how even the smallest actions can make a big impact on the environment.

As the continuity of the JASS programme, students will participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), an international leading achievement award programme for students aged 14 and above. The programme is fully aligned with current educational thinking and IDRISSI’s outdoor learning strategy. It is internationally recognised and will give our students an edge over the rest in their education portfolio.

Another customised subject we include in our curriculum is Skill and Fill, where students learn traditional Turkish Archery from trainers certified by the Yunus Emre Institute (world-wide non-profit organisation by the Turkish government) and the Okçular Vakfi (Archers’ Foundation of Turkey). The traditional sport is being taught together with its underlying historical, athletic, artistic, cultural and educational values. Being focused, confident and having a good sense of coordination are some of the positive values students can benefit from the programme.
