What a Journey It Has Been!
"We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again."
Time flies, but memories remain. When we look back on the years spent with our lovely students, words can hardly describe how meaningful those moments have been. We remember how they comforted one another before our school exhibition's performance; screamed their lungs out as their friends crossed the finish line on sports day; gave full support during a charity sale... well, the list could go on forever but we would need an entire book for that!
Through it all, they never took their studies for granted. They gave 100% focus in class and raised their hands when there was help needed. Does anyone still remember the pandemic years? That is surely one challenging moment for us all! When classes suddenly moved online and teachers had to go into a "long-distance relationship" mode with students, endless questions filled our minds: "How should we do it? Can we do it? Will the students manage?"
But as Allah promised in the Quran [94:5]: “So, surely with hardship comes ease,” a lot of hikmah unfolded before our eyes. Challenges then turned into opportunities and made our community grow stronger and better. Everyone gave their commitment and support through and through (including our wonderful IDRISSI parents, of course!) Even in those unprecedented times, our 2020 IGCSE candidates graduated with flying colours, with our Valedictorian scoring 10A* and Salutatorian scoring 7A*2A. Alhamdulillah!
Flying Colours
Alhamdulillah, that consistency is something we are deeply proud of. Our IGCSE 2025 batch kept the momentum going! Our A* grades jumped to 25% (compared to 21% last year), and we also scored more A's in Business, Art, English, Math and History. For seven years in a row now, our English results have stayed strong with 70% of students achieving an A!
Our students have always loved everything about art, so IDRISSI went an extra mile and brought them to meet one of Asia's maestros and expressionists, Prof. Yusof Ghani, at his gallery called the TAPAK Gallery, Shah Alam. Art can be a tough subject; it demands creativity, originality and depth of research, but our students nailed it this year. Why do we say so? The A grades in Art went up by a whopping 40%!
We would also like to congratulate our IGCSE candidates for this year, who achieved 100% credit across 9 subjects, with 51% scoring A & above, 75% scoring B & above and 91% scoring C & above.
A Night to Remember
Hearty smiles, warm hugs and happy tears. For the students, it was the moment they have been working hard for. When they went on to the stage, the proud gaze of their loved ones has made their accomplishment more meaningful. For the teachers, it was the moment they realised letting go was never easy, but they were happy to see the students spread their wings. For the parents, it was the moment they witnessed their children reach another milestone and grow into individuals of character and resilience. Our IGCSE Graduation Ceremony at the Courtyard Setia Alam has seen it all; the bond, the tears, the excitement and the love.
The ceremony wouldn’t be complete without the presence of our Guest of Honour, Prof. Ts. Dr. Ainuddin Wahid bin Abdul Wahab, a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya. His speech inspired each and every one of the candidates before they begin their new chapter in life. We could see their eyes lit up with hope, some were even nodding along as if they were already mapping out their future path. That’s the IDRISSI spirit!
"I believe everyone is good at something. Look for ways to use your talents not only for personal
success but also to the world around you."
Put Your Hands Together For Our Valedictorian & Salutatorian!
Saad Husainy Mohd Roslan, our IGCSE Valedictorian made us all proud by sweeping 10As! His vast knowledge has been proven time and time again, and we hope it didn’t stop here. May this achievement be the stepping stone for greater success in the future. Ameen. In his Valedictorian speech, he left us with words to hold on to:
"Don’t simply choose what others say is right; choose what you truly believe is right,
and live with that choice."
We also celebrate our Salutatorian, Muhammad Nuruddeen Mohd Zarihi for achieving 9As. His speech touched our hearts, as he remembers almost all the memories here at IDRISSI. Not to forget, he mentioned how much he will miss being here especially with all the lessons and bonding he has shared with everyone.
"What makes IDRISSI so special is not just the lessons, but the camaraderie, fellowship, and
family we built together."
From Students to Alumni
Even when our students have completed their studies at IDRISSI, we hope they carry with them the lessons they have learned and values that have shaped them. They may keep their eyes on the stars, but may they also keep their feet on the ground.
Over the years, our alumni have flown far and wide! To name a few: one pursues Engineering in Manchester under the Sime Darby Scholarship; another is at Imperial College London to study Biological Sciences under MARA Scholarship; and one flew to Japan to study Engineering on a university scholarship.
And it doesn't stop there! Some of our graduates are already working and making us proud! We've got a Pilot flying with AirAisa, a Sustainability Executive & Data Analyst at Batik Air Malaysia and an Engineer at Fanuc, a Japanese group of companies.
But no matter where life takes them, they will always remain a part of the IDRISSI family. Their success is not just in the titles they achieve but also in their kindness, integrity and humility.
Looking Ahead
To our beloved graduates, we may not know what the future holds, but Allah always listens to our prayers. Make du’a for yourselves, your parents, your family, your teachers, your friends. Walk on your path with sabr (patience), shukr (gratitude) and tawakkul (trust in Allah).
Congratulations once again, Class of 2025!
