Last weekend, our Bukit Jelutong campus came alive in a way that reminded us why we do what we do.
As the sun rose, the grounds of IDRISSI International School filled with laughter, excited chatter, and the steady rhythm of running shoes on pavement. The “Heal The World” Fun Run was not just a school event, it was a meaningful celebration of 10 years of value-driven education, community, and care for the world around us.
More than 1,000 students, teachers, parents, and community members gathered to take part in the 5km and 3km routes. While some ran and others walked, everyone moved forward with the same shared intention: to learn, to care, and to take responsibility as stewards of the Earth.

At IDRISSI International School, learning does not stop at classroom doors.
Along the routes, our runners encountered six thoughtfully designed checkpoints — Save Our Forest, Save Our River, Save Our Ice, Save Our Mountain, Save Our Animals, and Save Our Coral Reefs. These weren’t just pit stops. They were learning moments.
Each checkpoint brought together environmental facts, Quranic verses, Hadiths, ethical reminders, and interactive activities — lovingly prepared by our teachers and students. It was education brought to life, outdoors, in motion, and shared across generations.
As our founder, Zaliza Alias, has shared, this approach reflects our belief that Islamic values and environmental responsibility are best learned through lived experience, not just explanation. Learning through movement, play, and togetherness encourages both a healthy lifestyle and a caring mindset.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was hearing reflections from families who joined us. A parent shared how the experience felt different from other fun runs they had attended, as it opened conversations at home about real global environmental challenges, such as coral reef loss, and encouraged simple, practical actions families can take together to protect marine life.

These are the moments that stay with us. Because when learning continues at home, real change begins.

From the very beginning, IDRISSI was founded on a clear belief: education must go hand in hand with values, character development, and care for Allah’s creation. What began over a decade ago as a humble school in Setia Alam has grown into a thriving learning community across Setia Alam, Johor Bahru, and Bukit Jelutong, but our purpose has never changed.
We continue to integrate academic excellence with environmental awareness, Islamic values, and character and leadership development across all levels of learning. Across our campuses — complete with gardens and petting farms — students are encouraged to build a genuine connection with nature and understand their responsibility as stewards of the Earth, reflecting our commitment to experiential and values-based education.
The “Heal The World” Fun Run allowed us to extend this mission beyond our school gates and into the wider community.

As we move forward, IDRISSI International School remains committed to responsible growth, including our journey towards ISO standards and ESG initiatives. More importantly, we remain committed to raising children who care deeply, think thoughtfully, and act responsibly.
Thank you to every student, parent, teacher, volunteer, and community member who ran with us, learned with us, and healed the world with us — one step at a time.
Here’s to the next decade of purpose-driven, eco-Islamic education
