IDRISSI Family Day 2023: A Family Day to Remember!

Similar to how the vibrant hues of red beans, green cendol and yellow sweet corn can perfectly blend in a bowl of shaved ice, IDRISSI Family Day 2023 brought colourful characters and unique personalities of the students, teachers and parents in a harmonious celebration of “Colourful Life.” The Family Day took place on two consecutive days: July 27th for Preschool to Year 4 students and July 28th for Year 5 to Year 11 students at the picturesque Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort.

Right from the start, the excitement was contagious! It was not just an ordinary day in the school calendar; it was a day of celebration and togetherness for students, teachers and parents. The Family Day began with a fun array of games during the day, followed by a lovely dinner, captivating student performances and the eagerly anticipated “Best-Dressed Awards” at night.

A Day of Fun and Connection

Buzz buzz… we could feel the positive energy buzzing all around! All thanks to the supportive and enthusiastic students, teachers and parents! Students, often accustomed to seeing their teachers in school, now found themselves playing together in friendly games of charades, a testament to their teamwork! Parents, who might usually interact with teachers during Open Day, now joined forces for the ‘Who-Can-Make-the-Longest-Line’ challenge, forging stronger school-family bonds!

Entertainment Galore

Time for some fun under the sun! Each game had its own dedicated station, and participants were grouped accordingly. Excitement filled the air as everyone shifted from one station to another after completing their missions! We must say… the competitive spirit was in full swing! But winning isn’t everything – it’s the enthusiasm and memories that count! The clear blue sky, lush greenery and refreshing air was the icing on the cake! We couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect setting!

Heartwarming Performances

As families gathered around the tables and savoured delightful dinner, they were accompanied by the amazing performances by our students. Watching the stage lit up with their talents truly warmed our hearts. They sang their hearts out, performed the traditional ‘dikir barat’ and brought stories to life through acting. The performances were not just about talent; they were about love and togetherness in our school family, reminding us of the bonds that make our school community meaningful.

Drum Roll Please! The Best-Dressed Award Goes To…

One of the most anticipated moments during the dinner was the grand unveiling of Best-Dressed Awards, which were presented in categories for students, teachers and parents. We were smiling from ears to ears the moment we saw everyone donning lively and diverse colour palettes. They were all in perfect harmony with the Family Day theme – “Colourful Life.” Thank you, parents for joining in the celebration and giving full support to the theme!

Lifetime Memories

In the fast-paced world we live in, where time often seems to slip through our fingers, it’s important to create as many meaningful memories as we can with everyone that matters, even in the simplest of moments. As the saying goes, "Don't count the years, count the memories," our school's Family Day embodies this sentiment perfectly, providing a platform for students, parents, and teachers to come together and create lifetime memories.
